At this time all Prelicensing, Postlicensing, and Continuing Education Courses will be taught using a live conferencing application called ZOOM (zoom.com). ALL CLASSES ARE NOW VIRTUAL OR ONLINE. NO FINAL CLASSROOM EXAMS FOR PRE & POST LICENSING CLASSES. Social Distancing and Masks will be required of instructors and students. Continuing Education Classes – $65 each

The North Carolina Real Estate Commission requires that all licensees complete a minimum of eight (8) hours of Continuing Education by June 10 of each year in order to renew a license. All necessary books are included in our course fee.

Continuing Education - Contracts for BICs and Brokers

This class is for both agents and BICS. An in depth discussion for experienced agents concerning the pitfalls of the Offer to Purchase and Sales Contract along with common issues with various addenda and agency contracts.

Continuing Education - Everyday Ethics in Real Estate

“Everyday Ethics in Real Estate” is a 4 hour elective course that also meets the NAR requirements for ethics training. Students will examine the “Top 11 unethical practices of real estate agents” while discussing local issues and topics that include: “Coming soon” and other advertising issues, dual agency dilemmas, compensation disclosures and unethical contract practices. Discussion will also be devoted to how real estate agents should treat one another and how to resolve agency and commission conflicts.

Continuing Education - The New Price Is Right

The New Price is Right is an elective course designed to help real estate brokers understand how appraisers determine values of a wide variety of properties. Agents will review the differences in FHA,VA, Conventional and the Automated Value Model (AVMs) appraisals. Brokers will also learn the 3 top troubles for agents which include: choosing the right comps, calculating square footage values (below grade, unpermitted and finished attic space) along with how to adjust for lot size, condition and appreciation. Brokers will also learn how to price investment properties, vacant land and houses with no comps. Finally, both appraisers and lenders have been interviewed for this course and have shared their most common reasons for low appraisals and what agents can do to prevent them.

Continuing Education - SOLD!

SOLD! Covers 8 strategies for getting your buyer’s offer accepted in either a single or multiple offer situation & the top negotiation skills needed by every real estate agent. Brokers will learn about iBuyer Companies & how their quick cash offers are affecting our local market. We will learn how to work with, & not against these companies & the similarities & differences when presenting an offer. Finally, we will look at various “myth busters” for selling to millennials & what this generation is looking for in housing & in their agents. We will also consider whether it is better for them to rent or buy in the Triangle based on our current market.

BICUP 2020- 2021 will focus on Fair Housing & Offer to Purchase issues, reminders and updates. BICs will also be reviewing the newest in Cybersecurity and current scams that can affect both agents and clients. Brokers will also learn new license law modifications concerning provisional brokers that are part of dually affiliated team. Finally, a variety of Licensing Law & Rules updates designed specifically for Brokers in Charge will be given.
