The New Price is Right is an elective course designed to help real estate brokers understand how appraisers determine values of a wide variety of properties. Agents will review the differences in FHA,VA, Conventional and the Automated Value Model (AVMs) appraisals. Brokers will also learn the 3 top troubles for agents which include: choosing the right comps, calculating square footage values (below grade, unpermitted and finished attic space) along with how to adjust for lot size, condition and appreciation. Brokers will also learn how to price investment properties, vacant land and houses with no comps. Finally, both appraisers and lenders have been interviewed for this course and have shared their most common reasons for low appraisals and what agents can do to prevent them.
